Disney China opens first furniture store in Shanghai Disney Town
2022-09-20
Disney has opened its first home furnishings store in China in its themed resort in Shanghai.
The blue, double-story “Disney Home” store sells tiny home goods branded with the Disney logo. The collection, which includes tableware presenting the classic narrative of Alice in Wonderland and kitchenware with one of their most popular characters – Duffy, creates a cosy home environment that is flavoured by the well-known Disney fairy tales. Through the monetization of its owned intellectual property, Disney is able to create an immersive visitor environment that improves the entire consumer experience.
The launch took place just two weeks after Disneyland Park reopened on 20th June following three months of strict local COVID lockdowns. It enables the business to capitalise on China’s summer vacation period, when students are eager to enjoy their time off and graduates want to mark the close of an important chapter in their lives. This increases the possibility that people will pay the company a visit.
According to reports, tourist interest rose in the wake of the authority’s statement. For example, searches for “Shanghai Disneyland” increased sixfold on Ctrip, one of China’s largest online travel sites. According to reports, the city became one of the most sought-after among eager tourists in China as a result of the country’s passion for the entertainment destination. Surrounding hotels were also in high demand throughout the phenomenon.
It is clear that Shanghai Disneyland continues to draw both locals and tourists from the rest of the nation. With the opportune addition of Disney Home, the business can make the most of its current assets to increase foot traffic while also improving the overall experience for customers.
