C-star Attends In-store Asia 2016 to Tap Into the Highly Dynamic Indian Market

The Pragati Maidan, New Delhi opened its doors for In-store Asia during 4-6 August 2016, a unique event promoting India’s retail market and a key exchange platform for the retail industry in Asia. The C-star team captured this exclusive opportunity and flew to New Delhi to explore the Indian local retail market.
During the event, Messe Düsseldorf, together with In-store Asia organizer VJ Media, proudly announced EuroShop’s joining force with In-store Asia. By doing this, EuroShop has further expanded its exhibition portfolio to cover the South Asian subcontinent - a notable emerging retail market. The partnership has also strengthened C-star’s international presence. With increasingly close business ties between India and China, In-store Asia will, through C-star, be able to satisfy the Indian market with more outstanding Chinese suppliers.
In-store Asia 2016 occupied 3,500 m2 of exhibition space, presenting the best retail design, visual merchandising, POP advertising, retail technology, digital signage and innovative solutions from over 100 exhibitors. During this trip, C-star noticed that local companies are actually as good as their European and U.S. counterparts in terms of creativity and branding. The improved regulation of the Indian retail industry, increasing participation by foreign supermarket giants, and the fast growing demand for retail equipment will undoubtedly create abundant new opportunities for this South Asian country’s retail business and its FMCG companies.
